I have learned a lot from this class especially using the google site because learning how to manage my own classroom through a site helps me be better organized and informative to parents and students. That will help me in the future because whenever I’m using a google site for my classroom I know the tools to maintain it. I also learned other stuff as well, but I would have to say everything in this course show me this is what when I’m finally a teacher this is where I can go to make quizzes at, or I can go to Turnitin.com to see if any of my student’s have plagiarize, but the most important thing I learn was the concept map. Doing the concept map and the lesson plan was so much fun, and it showed me this is how I can be organize with my lesson plans.
Some of my strong points was the movie making because I knew that throughout this course I had sort of a theme which was about Mississippi, and my concept map was direct to Mississippi, but when the movie making came up I pin pointed to the Gulf Coast Region to show my students this is the region we live in and what makes us the coast. Another strong point was using the web tools. I taught at my church first graders so game and activities was something I already knew what to do, but I also learned about other sites that offer types of games and activities that were interesting yet fun. Some of my weak points were using the web page. Trying to maintain and at the same time learning how to make a site was difficult for me to do. Another weak point was learning about assistive technology. The assignment in class seem easy, but trying to get everything right for a special needs child was not so easy for me to do.
My future goals to help improve my two weak points are to sit down one day and learn how to run and maintain a web page because they do help teachers a lot with explaining stuff to parents, but it also good to students too because we are using a different form of technology and students can use that web page to be more responsible. For my other weak point being a special education major I need to learn different techniques for my students because every disable child has different needs that need to be met so they can understand, and it’s my job to know different techniques so I can help my students better understand the material.
I plan to use technology in my classroom through by having my students do quizzes online through Quiz Star. I also plan to have my students do different projects or reports in class, and for student’s that may not understand a computer that’s my time to help them understand different things on a computer, and at the same time showing them how to do a report. I do, however, plan to use Turnitin.com because I think that is a great site teachers can use to determine if students are copyrighting, and at the same time the student can see much of their report was copyrighted.

Web Page Reflection
Web Pages can support the Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, and Decision Making Standard because students can interact with other students via web pages, and think of plans, activities to do. A Web page can support this standard because students have to critical think and analyze research. Students can use web pages to research problems and ask questions that related back to the problem. After they ask questions they can take that data and analyze it to make solutions to the problems. On a web page, students can plan activities on there and manage them.
Teachers can be organize using web pages because for example teachers can put classroom or parent information on there, so that parents can see what is going on in the classroom and any events that are upcoming. That will be organizing to the teacher because once the teacher puts all the information up on the web page, students can go there and see the information. Another example is a teacher can plan activities on there and managing them to better helps the student

Google Groups Reflection....
The NETS Standard that can be used to support online class discussion boards is Model Digital-Age Work and Learning. Teachers can use this standard to bring creative by having online class discussions. Having this standard helps students and teachers because the teacher is using her knowledge about technology and in return the teacher is showing her students another way of understanding the topic that the teacher is presenting to her class.
Using a discussion board allows students to see other people feel about the question or topic, and it allows them to reply to other people statements. A discussion board is more interactive than a blog or a web page because the teacher and students can interact on the discussion board, and it gives the students a better understanding because seeing how other student’s opinions they can take their opinions and build them in into their opinions. If teachers are using blogs or a web page you’re not getting your students engage into much discussion.

Web Tools Reflection...
Two NETS Standard tools students can learn from is Creativity and Innovation, and Research and Information Fluency. Games can support both of these NETS Standards because with Creativity students can learn something and apply that knowledge, and do a game activity online. It’s creative because most students love games so while doing a game they understand more about the topic. Research and Information, students can research different games to better understand the topic.
As a teacher, using web tools can better help organize the way I can make a topic more interesting. For example I can go to SuperKids and print out a worksheet on addition, and when I’m teaching my students I can give them the worksheets and do it as a class, so that all students understand how to add. Another example I can do is take them on a field trip. I can go online and see when I could take my students to the Louisiana Nature and Science Center, so my students can see up close animals, learn about where they live, and so on. The part of working with Web Tools that was most difficult was RubiStar. It’s a great site to use, but it’s also difficult because when I’m about to do my rubric you have 40 minutest to complete this task, and if not I will lose any data. It’s difficult because if I’m trying to make a rubric up I will probably have distractions, and that isn’t good because I will never finish the rubric.

Plagiarism Activity Reflection..
The NET Standard that is concern with plagiarism is Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility. This standard is concern with that because teachers have to understand that most students may not want to do a report, so they try to either buy one of the internets, or they will just plagiarize and think that the teacher wouldn’t catch it. It’s the teacher job to teach the students that plagiarizing is bad and that they can get in a lot of trouble copying someone else’s work without giving the author credit.
Turnitin is a good tool in detecting plagiarism because once the student submits their paper through Turnitin, they can see how much they plagiarize, but also teachers can see where the student plagiarize, they can see where it came from. Turnitin highlights the text where the student plagiarizes at, and off to the side in that color it tells that teacher where it came from, when, and who. It’s a good tool for student’s to see that plagiarizing is not good and that it will get you in trouble. It will show student’s that the percent they give you when they finish reviewing the paper a text they said was actually on somebody else’s paper, and that writing in their own words is the best way to avoid plagiarism.

Concept Map Reflection
Concept Map Reflection:
1. The standards that I think can be supported by concept mapping as a tool for students is Creativity and Innovation, Technology Operations and Concepts ,Communication and Collaboration, Research and Information, Critical Thinking, Solving Problems, Decision Making, and Digital Citizenship. I think all the standards will help students because each one of these can teach students how to do things in that specific field.
2. A planning map can help me to integrate and plan technology in my lesson because planning out what I want to teach would better help me as a teacher to incorporate creative things in my lesson to engage my students, and for my students to understand the material I am teaching.
3. I learned that by having a concept map that I am helping my students better understand that material that I am teaching. This map will help engage my students to learn the material in a way that they would be interested in, and to keep them focused.

Picture-Perfect PowerPoint
Megan Bermond
Content Area/ Topic: Language Arts
Grade Level: K NETS-S: 1, 6
Description: Students need to pick a letter from the alphabet that they would like to do. They can find pictures from coloring books, or even pictures that are on the internet. Once they find pictures they will build a PowerPoint to showcase the letter and images, and sound of the image. For example: You can pick the letter H, so students can pick up to four images of animals. They can use horses, hamster, hog, hound and once there they can find the sound of them, and put it in their slide.
Teacher Preparation: The teacher needs to show students, who have low vision the accessibility feature, which changes the display to a larger higher contrast, so students who have that problem can see much better. Another way they can prepare is showing students the magnifier button in the feature, so students can see pictures much bigger. Also, teachers need to prepare students, who have a mild hearing impairment, the windows accessibility feature such as the Sound Sentry, so when students are finding sound for their assignment they can hear the sound.
Active Preparation: Beforehand, teachers need to already teach the students the letters of the alphabet, and as well as objects that start with that letter of the name. The teacher should use sounds to help relate the sound to the object. After the students are finished with their project it will be showcased for the parent-teacher conference.
