Final Blog Reflection...

I have learned a lot from this class especially using the google site because learning how to manage my own classroom through a site helps me be better organized and informative to parents and students. That will help me in the future because whenever I’m using a google site for my classroom I know the tools to maintain it. I also learned other stuff as well, but I would have to say everything in this course show me this is what when I’m finally a teacher this is where I can go to make quizzes at, or I can go to Turnitin.com to see if any of my student’s have plagiarize, but the most important thing I learn was the concept map. Doing the concept map and the lesson plan was so much fun, and it showed me this is how I can be organize with my lesson plans.
Some of my strong points was the movie making because I knew that throughout this course I had sort of a theme which was about Mississippi, and my concept map was direct to Mississippi, but when the movie making came up I pin pointed to the Gulf Coast Region to show my students this is the region we live in and what makes us the coast. Another strong point was using the web tools. I taught at my church first graders so game and activities was something I already knew what to do, but I also learned about other sites that offer types of games and activities that were interesting yet fun. Some of my weak points were using the web page. Trying to maintain and at the same time learning how to make a site was difficult for me to do. Another weak point was learning about assistive technology. The assignment in class seem easy, but trying to get everything right for a special needs child was not so easy for me to do.
My future goals to help improve my two weak points are to sit down one day and learn how to run and maintain a web page because they do help teachers a lot with explaining stuff to parents, but it also good to students too because we are using a different form of technology and students can use that web page to be more responsible. For my other weak point being a special education major I need to learn different techniques for my students because every disable child has different needs that need to be met so they can understand, and it’s my job to know different techniques so I can help my students better understand the material.
I plan to use technology in my classroom through by having my students do quizzes online through Quiz Star. I also plan to have my students do different projects or reports in class, and for student’s that may not understand a computer that’s my time to help them understand different things on a computer, and at the same time showing them how to do a report. I do, however, plan to use Turnitin.com because I think that is a great site teachers can use to determine if students are copyrighting, and at the same time the student can see much of their report was copyrighted.
